Bizarroland
Bizarroland is a place where the strangest of objects sit right next to the most ordinary household items. Everything is for sale-eventually destined to be recycled into the hands of the next curious passerby who just has to have it... or maybe not.
I go to explore and make photographs. I never know what I’ll find while wandering the acres of booths and vendors, each hoping to unload their treasures at the flea market.
Here, you can trace the outlines of a society through the objects it once valued. These so-called “treasures” are gathered and brought together—relics of personal histories now hopefully to be resold for a profit. Sometimes they’re carefully curated and displayed; other times, they’re tossed together in a chaotic mix of antiques, collectibles, and everyday clutter, all waiting to find a new home.
