Wired
Wired explores the simple and chaotic shapes infused by the use of selective focus and depth of field within my camera and lenses along with the positive and negative spaces created by the contrast of the metal against the snow. The fencing leftover from the previous Summer gardens and photographed immediately following fresh Winter snow allows for clean white backgrounds without distracting shadows and footprints. This fun series is based on my love of snow and how it helps to visually simplify landscapes and objects into crisp black and white images.
The wired fencing and cages remind me of free-form jazz compositions. At times chaotic, asymmetrical rhythms working together and pushing against the edges of the frame. Shape and forms intensify into a new appreciation for patterns that always existed but with the whiteness of snow, they encourage new ways for appreciating the individual shapes transforming into a cohesive image.
